Matthew 5

Eight beatitudes are about persecution of God's messengers, which follows eight beatitudes. The sermon on the mount has a theme like: the life of the prophet.  八福讲的是神的使者受到迫害。登山宝训的主题是：先知的生命。

5:11-12 concludes 5:2b-10;  5:11-12 小结 5:2b-10; 

5:16b concludes 5:13-16a.  5:16b 小结 5:13-16a.

5:3, poor = needed (physically); 贫穷 = （物质上）有需要。

5:4, mourn = for lost (or sins);  哀恸 = 为失去（，为罪）。

5:5, meek = submitted, kind;  温柔 = 顺服，仁慈。

5:6, hunger and thirst = of food and water;  饥渴 = 需要食物和饮水。

5:7, merciful = giving, raising;  怜悯 = 给予，扶起。

Troubles will lift up during ministry. Sometimes we just see no standards and directions during difficulties, we find that we become needy and in want.  事奉中必然遭遇困难，有时在困难中我们看不见准则和方向，我们发现我们成了有需要、欠缺的人。

5:5, meek means to continue the ministry;  温柔的意思是：继续服侍。

5:7, merciful means to give (from nowhere);  怜悯的意思是：给予（怎能再给得出来）。

5:8, pure means clean from sin or doubt, i.e., faithful;  清洁的意思是：洁净；没有罪，没有怀疑；也就是，相信。

5:9, peacemakers mean bridge from sinners to God;  使人和睦的意思是：做罪人和上帝之间的桥梁。

As a result of ministry, it leads to persecution in 5:10-11. Notice that the poor in spirit have the same reward with the persecuted for righteousness, the kingdom of heaven. Righteousness is the cause of the persecuted, and the purpose of the hungry and thirsty.  服侍的结果是，遭到10-11节的受迫害。注意，虚心的人和为公义受迫害的人得到相同的赏赐。公义是受迫害的起因，也是饥渴的对象。

Therefore, the poor in spirit are not those hopeless sinners, but those pilgrims toward the temple of God. Of course, we have to acknowledge our hopeless and lacking status. However, the theme of the Sermon on the Mount is the daily life of a God-fearing person, rather than a sinner turns to God for help and salvation.  因此，虚心的人不是指那些无望的罪人，而是那些走往圣殿的朝圣者。当然啦，我们必须承认我们无望又缺乏的状态，但是登山宝训的主题是敬畏神的人每日所过的生活，而不是罪人转向神，来寻求帮助和救恩。

救恩的宝贵是因为我们得到赦免，不是我们得到永生。救恩的宝贵是因为还有公义，法理仍然存在，不是因为我们可以享受。

Devotion is a post-salvation behaviors, following the new genuine nature.  灵修和委身是得救后的行为，顺从那纯正的新本性。

The theme of the four Gospels is who Jesus is and why Jesus died. Jesus did not just die for salvation but also restoration (healing), to restore the broken relationship as well as the lost righteous behaviors.  四福音书的主题是：耶稣是谁，耶稣为何而死。耶稣不仅仅为救恩而死，也为恢复和医治而死。除了恢复破裂的关系，还恢复了曾失去的正确行为。

Principle #1, interpret the passage within context, related and restricted.  解经原则，解经要在上下文的范围内：有关联，有限定。

It is about how the Bible says instead of what they said. Their commentaries are precious, but I would like to see how the verses are put together. I prefer the theory, to read the Bible as a book.

In commentaries, poor in spirit: (1) humble from human pride, (2) humble for sins, (3) humble for persecuted faith.

诗12:5 耶和华说：因为困苦人的冤屈和贫穷人的叹息，我现在要起来，把他安置在他所切慕的稳妥之地。
35:10 我的骨头都要说：耶和华啊，谁能像你救护困苦人脱离那比他强壮的，救护困苦穷乏人脱离那抢夺他的？
40:17 但我是困苦穷乏的，主仍顾念我；你是帮助我的，搭救我的。　神啊，求你不要耽延！
70:5 但我是困苦穷乏的；　神啊，求你速速到我这里来！你是帮助我的，搭救我的。
72:4 他必为民中的困苦人伸冤，拯救穷乏之辈，压碎那欺压人的。

2. 按照上下文解经，必然得到其它的注释书和圣经其它经文的支持。
